Practical Golf Accessory
The CPO Buddy™ is a practical multi-purpose golf accessory designed to enhance the quality of play, particularly for courses under the Cart-Path-Only rule. This project originated when a senior golfer approached us, asking to take a chance on their idea. We took the concept from vision to reality by designing the product in CAD, branding the company, 3D printing prototypes, and creating a sample Kickstarter campaign. The product was listed in golfing stores across Ontario on consignment.
Tailored for everyday golfers, the CPO Buddy™ is a pocket-sized tool that keeps clubs dry and off the wet ground, improving convenience and accessibility, especially for golfers who want to minimize the need to bend down. Designed to be lightweight and easy to carry, this solution fits seamlessly into a golfer’s existing gear without adding bulk or hassle.
Overview
Our process for this concept began with designing the product in CAD, undergoing several dozen iterations to refine the design. After fine-tuning the 3D printing profile, we transitioned to marketing, where we developed the brand and logo, created mockups, set up a web store, and launched a Kickstarter campaign.
Product Design
We utilized Autodesk Fusion 360 to iterate several different designs for the product, then we sliced them and 3D printed them with our FDM printers (Ender 5+).
Brand Design
A practical golf accessory brand like CPO Buddy needs a logo that adapts seamlessly across various applications—whether it’s color, grayscale, or inverted formats. The design should evoke the clean, sharp look of a golf flag, ensuring clarity and impact in every setting, from product packaging to digital platforms, while maintaining a professional yet approachable identity.
